Has anyone tried fitting the manual drives to the side of LGB's R3 points? I know they come with the electric drive as standard, and after studying a pic of one I see there is not the extra set of holes for attaching the manual drive. Is there any reason for this? I'm after replacing the R1 points that are currently installed on my reversing loops, but they need to be sprung (reliably too).
Many thanks,
Tim

You need to make another hole in the sleeper Tim, and trim out the plastic from the side as well.

Like Nod, I have fitted these to an R3 and a 3 way point....

Yep, works exactly the same way. I do this on the R3 and 3WP at Sheringham South Junction.

Trains routed from the UP MAIN into the platform push through coming over the crossover, where as the points are left set for trains leaving on the DOWN MAIN....

No worries mate!

BTW, I should have mentioned that's an old photo, and the motor on the R3 point HAS since been replaced with the manual lever....
