Scissors Crossing..with R1 points...60 degree crossing

I'm thinking about a redesign of a fiddle yard, and was wondering about an R1 scissors crossing. For this I would need a 60 degree crossing section.
I remember seeing a kit ( possibly German ) for one. A quick search returns nothing. I've looked at Trainline, all their ready made items are below 45, such as 30, 20 etc.
Also Thiel don't do one...

Looking for one in 'LGB' code 332, prefer ready made as it's to be on a portable modular layout.

Piko have one in their catalogue..along with other points which have yet to make an appearance!!!

Do note that the 43.00 Euro price of the kit version does NOT include the 6-piece check rails set ("Radlenker"), which is an optional extra at 15.00 Euro - the assembled option at 80.00 Euro DOES include the check rails, so the price difference is less than it first appears.
Whether you feel you want or need the check rails is of course up to you.
Giz, from your pic it looks like you bought the kit version without the check rails - any running problems through it at all?

Thanks....I'll put my design together and see what the reaction is. I did spot that the crossing needs the extra checkrail bits to prevent derailments, and this brings the cost up to almost a ready made one. All the points would be motorised and decodered..I was wondering if there could be just one point number for 'straight through' and 'crossover' routes making shunting that bit easier.....

We may decide to go the R3 route, which of course needs a 45 diamond.

I once went to a real ale festival in the mid 80's with a person bought up on 'fizzy keg', he saw a sign saying DDD and immediately asked for Double Diamond. It was Dashers Downing Draught. I think he almost got escorted out....

I had a pint of Double Diamond once - on a school trip to Oxford, to see a Moliere play at a theatre with Edward Woodward in the lead role - the beer was as dire as the play.

Gizzy will hopefully confirm, but I think (from looking at Bertram Heyn's stuff at Llanfair) that the "frog" castings you're referring to are actually plastic (a brass-coloured resin) rather than metal.....so no insulation or switching necessary.

That's clever. Pity LGB/Marklin/Piko don't adopt it. Mind you I expect another part requiring attachment would push the price up. Then there's the tooling costs plus introducing another plastic into the procedure.

You're right, my pad decided that even the very printed name was so vile, it wouldn't allow it to be raised in public. Mind you I suppose every one to their, own, I expect there's folk out there lamenting it's demise

The brewery is still there, but making much nicer beer, London Pride anyone? Unfortunately although it's at the finish of the Varsity race, the Eights and Fours head start there, so it's a long hard row before you get to the other end to try out their products

I think that was what keg beer was all about, trying to emulate lager, and obviously failing dismally. I haven't a favourite beer, but I do like to try the local brews when I'm away.
