Sandstone & Termite

Re: Sandstone & Termite

Very nice Greg, particularly like the two together. Is your PB15 the fruits of the Big Hauler conversion you just described in the Battery forum?

No. A mate was wanting to get rid of the PB15, so I took it off his hands. The latest BIg Hauler RC is still awaiting some bashing.

Some great, close-up, run pasts!

Re: Sandstone & Termite

A nice hot autumn day saw three of us running trains. Keith with his roundhouse Billy live steamer, and Geof and me with our battery locos. Was a bit too warm so we only ran for an hour before heading inside for afternoon tea.
I ended the day using a double header to put my trains away. It's always fun juggling a 2.4 Ghz transmitter and a keyfob to control the two of them. I set the front loco (2.5 GHz) to about 3/4 speed then put the Tx down and control the 2nd loco only.
Here's the action condensed into 5 minutes.

A coolish Sunday saw 5 of us at Geof's Barron Tableland Railway. Terry's live steam billy was a failure unfortunately. We ran for 2 hours then had lunch and then continued. Keith's Billy then developed a valve gear problem - but it made the sound really loud. See the video around 3:10.

Great shots Greg. See what you mean about Billy - pity the sound can't be digitally sampled.

Re: Sandstone & Termite

Very nice video with the double header - and yes, having a battery powered loco is great just to get something running quickly. ;)

Most excellent, Greg ... as usual :)
