Round Robin boxcar

What happened to sending it to that place south of the Isle of Wight but north of Algeria?
Whaddya mean Google maps doesn't show anything? :thinking:

I just meant after its world tour:rolf::rolf::rolf:

We're back and forth between sunny Spain and UK about 4 times a year so when it's ready to go to Europe, I'm sure I can find space to transport it. I'm sure there must be other travellers that can carry it also.

If it does get sent overseas by post it might be prudent to make sure that it is insured as it certainly does have a big 'sentimental' value :bigsmile:

You mean the Channel Islands? :bigsmile:

My brothers firm has reps in europe that travel to and from uk, frequently, i could get it out that way if needed, I know most of the reps as I look after there fire alarms, ups and emergency lighting, etc

Ah yes, those and the Falklands plus a few places in the Caribbean: Britannia's way of thumbing her nose at the rest of the world :thumbup:

Er guys, wouldn't it make sense to send it to NHN before it goes too far away? Assuming it's not on Ebay by now:bigsmile::bigsmile:
Can I just bump this up please? I'm rather closer to the UK than Europe and the rest of the world.... it's only 30 miles across the Irish sea! Normal post gets here...... ;)

A 2kg parcel to NZ ..cheapest £43. Parcelforce quote - and can take up to a month.
Might just be cheaper by searching all the carriers!

£27.46 Royal Mail via air mail small packet rate so longs as it's less than 2Kg. Takes 4/5 days.

Ruritania has an excellent postal service. How many Gonads will it cost to send via Ruritania?

At least 2 I'd have thought? :bigsmile::bigsmile:

Yep, just got here safe and sound. Will take and post some pictures soon.
This time next month we are heading to Exmouth for a short holiday, do we have anyone that way who will able to take it from me? If it is too much time I have no issue posting on to the next person asap.
Tim

I believe Graham Mills is down that way you could pop in for a short break

Yes good idea to put in a small bit of negotiable currency, I still have some Eritrean notes left over, if it goes there. As someone rightly said, no heavy stuff, so I don't think gold bullion would be a good idea. Oh I fergit, since Goggsy Brown we don't have any gold bullion left in the UK. ???, not a chance. Soapy's groats? Bit doubtful.

Well at last we had a break in the weather that coincided with myself being home to get some pictures. The railway is going through some major changes at the moment, so please excuse the current building site appearance.
The boxcar has been put to use with the newly formed PW train, testing clearances and the new level crossing.
At Egham Hill station, loading up with measuring equipment and other useful (but invisible) tools,

Passing the new crossing, this was the first train to test the operation of the automatic crossing which proved a success, although the warning lights are not quite bright enough,

Testing clearances on the new reversing loop,

Then on and up to the hill bridge. A little tight here with the new tipper wagons,

but with a careful check from the local Rail Inspector the all clear was given,

On the 20th we will be heading to the Exmouth/Devon Cliffs area, if anyone in the area would like me to pass it on personally then please PM me so we can make arrangements. If I have not heard anything by Monday 16th then I will post onto the next person on the list.
Tim

Who's got the list - why go from Surrey to Devon without going through Sussex and Hampshire?

Ok so where is it?

I think that the list needs sorting, so if you are on the above list (or want to be) and HAVE NOT had a visit from the box car PM me.

When I get to Wimbledon station in the morning, I head to the London Underground platforms 1 - 4.

There is a departure board system that identifes which platform the first train will depart from.

Quite often, we all sit on the train in the indicated platfrom, and a train on another platfrom leaves first.

We all get quite hacked off.

I rest my case :impatient::impatient::impatient:
