Railcar bonnet

Anyone know where I can puchase a bonnet assembly for a railcar/railbus. I'm wanting to do a kitbash using some bits and pieces I've got from an Andel Ashover coach to build something resembling an early Model T Ford type of railbus - a bit like this:

That would be great - I can always adapt them. Whilst I could make something from plasticard or wood, I'm not sure how I could reproduce the louvres or the grille

I think I've got a surplus Hartland Mack bonnet if it's of any use (basically the same bonnet as Doug mentions above.

I've had a quick look at a pic of a Mack and I think I could bash it by adding a Cambrian radiator to the front. Shall we PM to discuss terms?

My 1:24 scale scratch built (including wheels) NZR Model T rail car.
The body panels and bonnet are made from thin brass sheet.
The radiator grill is brass gauze mounted in a wooden frame.
The bonnet louvers are represented in the following way.
Pairs of holes were drilled at the top and bottom of each louver.
Thin wire ?staples? were fed through the holes their ends bent over on the inside.
Filler was then applied around the edges of the wires. This was sanded, once set,
to form an even fillet shape.

Absolutely brilliant, Doug. I doubt my efforts will look enywhere near as elegant or well finished. I recognise the parentage of the body.

What did you use for power BTW?

Power is a £1.50 motor/gearbox from Maplin

Yep, wheels from GRS, they just push on the axle coming out of the gearbox. Perfect fit

That's really helpful - thanks - and looks impressive. Not sure if I have the skills which you clearly possess but will certainly have a bash (which tends to be my modus operandi) if all else fails.
