Rail Clamp Help Please

I have some flexi track that i pre bent, but not very well so they have a degree of tension on the joins... would any of these clamps bring these to alignment.

Are you in need of a rail bender ? I could lend you my GRS one. It has rollers for both LGB and Tenmille code 332 rail. If your rails were put through a bender there would salways be a bit, about 1 inch, at either end that had no curvature. If your rails were radiused reasonably accurately then you the would always be joining "straight" with "straight". You would also minimise the risks of derailments due to poor rail alignments at the join. I could post it to you and pick it up on your open day in August.

Just tried to place an order with Glendale for Hillman railclamps (250 to 332) to be told that Hillman are out of business, I think I got about the last of his stock of these particular adapters. Anyone comment on this and if so what do we use instead. I have only used Hillman so far

GRS do their own clamps, fit under the rail in situ. 2 screws on one side.
Easy to use , just fitted my Y points with some. Couldn't find them on their website though.
Try phoning, they are very helpful

I bought a pack of 10

Those are the same as the Train Line clamps. They work very well. Unobtrusive and they last well.

The ones in the link are Massoth clamps.

Well, they certainly look identical to Massoth, but GRS are selling them as their own (the photo for the 10-pack shows them bagged with a GRS header card)..... either they're bulk-buying them and repackaging, or they've had someone make them to something very, very similar to Massoth's clamp profile.

Jon.

I do the same Jon - repackage Massoth clamps into packs of 10 or 20.

So, at the risk of sounding a bit dumb, having presumably been deprived of Hillman clamps, which I think are excellent, especially when it comes to joining different rail codes, what is the nearest I can get to Hillmans?

Hello,

Well a lot more response than I thought! I tried both AMS and Massoth and I have to day I am a Massoth convert for ease of use and just as much mechanical strength.

Max- yes i probably needed to bend them properly originally- but the massoth clamps have done the trick.

I will restock more soon, probably from Muns.
