I wouldn't worry about the lack of compatibility. My lap top is Windows 8 which can't cope with it either!

The fun is driving from the actual drivers point of view! It is really good.

It can be had cheaply too, just hunt around. We can get it here for as little as 35GBP, which I guess is less than 70USD.

My advice is to hunt around.

I don;t have the new diesel, but I feel that the whining noise from the gears is not up to Playmobil's standard.

I agree, too, about sound effects. For my track powered steam-outline locos I have a mylocosounds card in a goods van, and what bliss it is to turn it off about a couple of hours running! The silence is deafening.
