Penfield MES Open Day 16 April 2025

Here are some pictures from our recent Open Day featuring a scratch built 1/32 scale South Australian Railways Rx Class 4-6-0 hauling a consist of OB wagons and Brake van by PMES member Geoff. Also a couple of White Pass Alco Diesel Engines 107 and newly converted to battery 108 with a number of container wagons, some scratch built by me. One of the containers has been repainted in the Royal Wolf livery. Enjoy.





This view (above) illustrates the difference in scale between the Rx 4-6-0 at 1/32 scale on standard gauge track compared to the Alco Diesel at 1/22.5 on narrow gauge track.

Very nice models but what happened to the spectators ... there appears to be nobody there! I must get up there one day soon with some live steamers.

Hi Peter, I took the photos while there weren't any people around (the attendance was very poor on the day) - otherwise we were too busy either chatting with the viewers or keeping an eye on the locos. Best photos used were taken with trains stationary (posed).
