Not sure if this counts, but these beasties certainly scoff their way through the fresh Spring growth!

on the other hand these we beasties turn up, scoff the slugs and snails and we get to keep some of the fresh growth.

Presumably he wanted a ticket to Parkstreet & Frogmore.

A few trees are now comming to early bloom though the Dafs are a little confused, some past their best and other still to flower.

These little blue beuties next to the almost done Snowdrops were obtained from a neighbor's front garden where they infest the gravel path. Glad they have taken, must ask for some more as I rather like them appearing just when the Snowdrops are going their way out of flower.

the Dafs are a little confused

They always were: something to do with the Variomatic gearbox, I think. :giggle: :giggle: :giggle:

I'll get my coat...

One of these was 'different'.. First-time reversing, was character-forming!:eek:

Yesterday I noticed that the Newts are doing their thing in the Pond, think I spied a Greater Crested and Smooth one amongst the 15-20 or so that were swimming around.

Todays sunny Northern day enlivens the newts...

..one advantage to leaving your old water lily leaves is that it gives the newts some cover before the new growth appears.

You do however need to be a little careful when you remove those old leaves as the newts could use some of the smaller left over bits for Egg laying activities between now and June.

That has brightened a dull-day, thank you!

What is the plant in the fourth picture? - With the variegated leaves, please?

My back garden backs onto a road. In the front garden of the house at the back of me there is a very large ornamental cherry that at this time of the year provides a glorious backdrop to the coloured shrubs that I have around my patio.
