more fall running

Now that most of the leaves are off the trees in the Kittatinny Mountains I was able to get the leaf blower out and clear the line (well most of it) I got some trains out running today. Morning temps have been in the 20'sF and frost and daytime low 40'sF.

The guys had a little extra cash so they bought a new plow for the line. They were planing on making one but they decided to use the materials for the climax.

Very nice pics Shawn do like your short flat car who makes that ?? Was your plow used to clear the leaves, spent a hour clearing leaves from my line Sunday so i could run a train looking at the garden now you would think i hadn't cleared it .

Thanks guys. Richie the flat cars are Hartland. I got them for $14 each on sale. They are about $23 now still not a bad price. I face them with wood and painted the sides rudy brown. They are great for just about annything. The box car is also Hartland and same length. I used my leaf blower to clear the line. Too many leaves for the plow. Before I blew the line you could not see the layout LOL Here is what they look like except the cheaper ones are undecorated and black.

Great pictures, Shawn. The line's really maturing nicely into the landscape. Those Hartland cars look about 20 to 24 scale feet in length. Wish I could have found some like that (and at such a good price); would have saved me having to cut down all my Bachmann stock.

The Bachmann 20 footers are pretty good when they're available - searches for a picture :impatient::impatient:

I managed to get some running in this past Sunday. Weather was perfect low 60's and no wind. Been a warm nov so far. I ran the Big John and Thomas for a little bit. Then my son wanted the Big John to pull the thomas coaches. The first boxcar is a Bachmann 20ft car as well as the Gondola. The other boxcar is a hartland. They both measure the same.
