Hi John,To program using the 55015.
1. Locate the red programming insert for the 55015 (Hopefully you have one). If you do not have one, game over.

2. Replace the regular operating insert with above.
3. Connect the yellow and green wires to the same power supply you are using to run the trains.
4. Connect the brown and white wires to the piece of track. (I recommend a 600mm length, i.e. two 300s or one 600)

5. Set the loco on the track
6. Turn the power on
7. Now comes the fun part. Do the folling EXACTLY as written.
8 Hopefully the 55015 is showing: C--
9. Press 5 then 1. The display should now show d -
10. Press 6 then 4. The diplay should now show d64
11. Press the Right Arrow button. You should hear a short faint motor noise from the loco and it should move forward slightly. That is the OK signal that the programning worked and CV 51 has been set to 64.
12. The Display should not show C--
13. Press 5 then 2. The display should now show d -
14. Press 1 then 2 then 8. The diplay should now show d128
15. Press the Right Arrow button. You should hear a short faint motor noise from the loco and it should move forward slightly. That is the OK signal that the programning worked and CV 52 has been set to 128.
It has been 10 years or more since I did this and I no longer have 55015 or MTS. I am a little uncertain how it handles the 3 digit setting of 128.
Assuming this works, remove the progamming insert and replace the operation insert on the 55015. Put the loco on your regualr running track, say three Hail Marys, Two Our Fathers and see if it works.

PS: Now you see why we suggest using the Mac/PC.
well this is interesting. Ok so I don't have a seperate insert with green and yellow wires and brown white for the 55015. Eek.
I can try and find one. I assume I will need this for my future expansion?
1. given I have at the moment just one loco.... do I need a programming track or can it be done on my loop. ?
not a problem making one.
So first I rang Dave and its out of his skill set so its down to me to learn programming. Obv with your help.
Let me get on to finding the programming module and then I will come back.
If i am to look at doing this via mac do I still need this handset insert? Just thinking that if not maybe the Mac route would be better for the future.
Thank you for your help its great.
Chris
