LGB New Items 2018 Brochure

The red Allegras look so sharp! Thank you for sharing the photos. I have the blue one with its ill-fated color scheme. I like the red more but (1) son’s favorite color is blue and (2) retailed for $500 less. Now I want a red one too :D

M, agree with you regarding the price of the Allegra, am glad I bought mine when they were first released. Like seeing mine climbing the mountains with some Bernina panorama coaches in tow:

Agree with your comments regarding the traction tyres although I'm just having to replace the tyres on my Harz 2-10-2T but as it has been run every year since I got the loco when they were first released many years ago I'm not complaining.

Also think that deciding whether or not to purchase a LGB loco/railcar without traction tyres rather limits the choice!!

Keith, your panorama coaches looked so nice with the Allegra than I bought a couple of the Berninas still hanging around! :D Much cheaper than the new Glacier Express ones. Although the first class and second class cars look identical excepting the "1" and "2"!

Rather fancied the fact that the Allegra red railcar was 'still available'. Checked it out, stopped reading when I saw two words, traction tyres, in the description...... I don't want one now.

..but oh how I'd love to go back there, again.

Regarding Traction Tyres, I Have to say that I am not keen on them either. It would have been good had LGB now Markin (would be) and other manufacturers gave the option of buying an additional set of drop in wheels sans traction tyres. Know it would be more expensive for those that do not want them but should actually not be too difficult to do with a good spares offering by any of the Manufactureres.

Firsts should have a yellow line between the side and roof.

When we 'did' Europe, it was as a family group of 4 adults. Each got to pick a destination/attraction. Gav's choice was the Berninna Express. Well any train journey over the Alps.
Luxuary A/C travel was a sop.... I'd have taken an odinary train, opening windows (for photography).

Aye there’s the line I believe! I should have clarified that the interiors are identical. No cushy first class pampering!

First class, three across leather seats.
Second class, four across not leather seats.
The Second next to the First, also has a partition, with the end of the car nearest the First, a storage/trolley service park.
