LGB New Items 2018 Brochure

Something to start saving up for...
I've been mostly good all year..ish

Noticed the new Rio Grande streamliner coaches are in the 'get them while you can' section but the F7A's and B's aren't. The baggage car is not even available yet. Strange!

Nearly €4000 ouch!

Hmmm, if they've taken over the ex-Brawa moulds for the G4/5, then I wonder if the RhB snowplough is actually the one that Dietz have been making? From what I recall, it's somewhere around the same sort of price.....

Jon.

The DIETZ snow plough is only made to order.

Nice to see lots of positive comments. It is all too easy to moan and groan in any walk of life but this thread puts a bounce in to life.
No one likes the pricing but as always, you take it or leave it.
Hopefully MLGB are on a roll. Even the mfx seems to have been tamed.

Excellent.

Your not the only one who's noted it and asking that Jon ;)
Maybe a batch done to special order with mfx electronics? Until someone puts the two side by side we won't know.

Seems reasonable, after all the metal pre 2006 crash LGB models were produced elsewhere. Magnus and Aster were two companies involved.

I'll second that, totally agree.

Understand that The Hobby Co. has contacted UK dealers advising them that they would appreciate orders (at an expected retail price of approximately £3750) for the snowplough within the next week to ensure that they can get the necessary number out of the 399 snowploughs to be produced.

Much as I would like one, especially having been on a special on the RhB with the snowplough in the consist, its something I must pass on. Hate to think how long it would take to get round the EG&SNNR!!

Maybe a new programme, "G Scale Gear" with three middle aged modellers testing out, in a few wacky challenges, the new super models from LGB beyond the reach of the wallet of mere mortals? ;)
With a mysterious welding mask clad performance expert called Mr Lumphammer!

Well, I'd watch that...... ;)

Yes, I'd pretty much agree with that, Alan. A selection of nice stuff - a lot of it not for me personally, because as said I don't model Swiss (or US for that matter), but us German fans have just had the VIk after all, and I don't begrudge the RhB fans this batch of wallet-straining goodies..... ;)
Agreed on the subject of the MFX decoders, as well - I was wary of them in the past, but adjusting the one in the VIk proved to be perfectly straightforward, it's just a matter of getting used to something that behaves a little differently from the old LGB/Massoth units we've all become so familiar with, and following certain procedures. I'd have no hesitation in buying further MFX-chipped locos.

It looks like I'm the only person who wants the branded 50th anniversary stuff. I do have my excuses ready... I love Stainz engines (possibly a girl-thing!) and have quite a few, so a gold one would be different. Also, I'm the same age as LGB, so it's my 50th this year too. ("celebrating" (?) this milestone next month on the Glacier Express). My only complaint about the engine is it doesn't have the years on (1968 - 2018) like the wagons do. I also like the Christmas engine, but I've already got several Christmas items and there's a limit to how many I can fit under the Christmas tree and they spend 11 months each year in the loft.

I am a bad lad...ordered mine
