I'm attempting to convert a 2045 into a freelance electro-diesel loco. I've put an LGB radiator into one bodyside and removed one of the two pantographs on the roof. In the vacant space will go a roof radiator fan. Instead of the existing fixed frame chassis the thing (and that's a kind name for it) will be mounted on two bogies - sort of OBB Class 1245ish,. These have been modified from LGB tender chassis. I didn't mention my intentions for the loco when asking if anyone had bodyside windows for fear of being thrown off the forum for severe model abuse.Out of interest, in what way are you modifying the body of the "box on wheels"? Are you making a new loco or just improving the maker's model?
Your loco to abuse as you wish, some of the liberties I have taken with Piko, LGB and Newquida over the years have not got me chucked out ...... yet,I'm attempting to convert a 2045 into a freelance electro-diesel loco. Nothing wrong with that at all. The ÖBB 1245 looks cool, I just had to investigate:I'm attempting to convert a 2045 into a freelance electro-diesel loco.
