K27 bridge bypass on the NSLR Begins

Get some concrete in there and build up a nice rock wall as Richie points out.

I assume those switches are the Aristo #6s?
They look quite good

well spotted spike #6 is right,as for cement i dont think so maybe the crib in the picture but that might look out of proportion looking at the high.im finding it very hard to decide what to do:impatient::crying::crying:

Treslles are the real way to go, but they're fiddly to make, especially when there's a long way to go, and the garden maintenance would worry me.

That's why I went for the easy option

I think your right Ian trestles might be the only way to go,and they are so fiddly but the look good .the slope wouldnt be stable enough for the weight of the sleepers you used they would land up in the river along with myself:rolf:,yours look great:clap:

I can't believe it nearly a year ago since I started the bypass .now that my knee is back in order I'm hoping to make some progress. I have the track in situ now I need something to keep it in place,I will have some pictures over the weekend :-) :-) :-)

If you keep dancing on the spot like that, it's small wonder that yer knees have been giving trouble, me lad :rolf:

What about just some posts with planks screwed on top.

Then suitable planting underneith that will grow up and hide it and then some form of cribbbing above the track as a retainer.

Will any one be able to see it from the other bank?

Good to hear your back on your feet Nico  Look forward to the photo's of your new line

you read my mind Steve, going to use those spikes for holding posts have some lying in a corner .only thing that can see from the other bank is the sheep and the occasional farmer:rolf:and there's a bed to the front .got distracted today and painted the top of one of the bridges,so i will get cracking on the posts monday .also made some cribbing for part of the track to retain the gravel pictures to come:D:D

Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best:thumbup::thumbup:

Think you need a bypass just in case the river rises... can you lift out the bridge quickly if it floods?
