Is there a wiring diagram for an LGB Mogul 6 pin connector? I think this one is a 22182 (C&S dark red/black version). All but 2 of the wires were pulled out of the plug. I did I think an ok job but when you fire it up it chuffs once and that's it. I tried different combinations of wires in the ports but maybe I'm still getting it wrong. Tender looks like it has a magnet mounted on the truck for I guess whistle/bell but that doesn't work either. Engine runs fine. Took it all apart and checked to see if any wires got broken or plugs pulled loose but everything looked fine. Is it possible to hall sensor went bad or possibly the board? Here's a couple pics of what I'm looking at. I didn't mess with the wiring in the tender but maybe that was messed up before. Any ideas? Thanks!

Can you post a photograph of the 'magnet'?
LGB loco mounted magnets are to trigger track mounted switches.

If you mean a reed switch board in a motor-block, that is a different thing altogether.

Hall sensor should have three wires from it, and will be a small circuit board adjacent to a circular magnet mounted on the axle.

If you have been randomly swapping wires around, you may well have damaged the board, but those connectors are notoriously difficult to re-make successfully.

I have a 2219S Mogul. My six pin connector wasn't broken, but the information I was able to find on the pin outs for the Hall Effect Sensor were contradictory. There was also the problem of damaging the sensor if I guessed wrong and some only work in a specific voltage range. I later ordered some Hall Sensors that are supposed to be damage proof to replace the one in the engine. I haven't gotten it installed yet. I can probably find the diagram for what I was able to confirm for the others pins.

Here is a link to info on the Hall Sensor kindly provided by other forum members. Experience Connecting LGB Hall Effect Sensors to MLS Boards?

I wanted to switch to battery power and add a G Scale Graphics RailBoss 4+ to control the original sound card and use the truck mounted magnets to trigger the RailBoss and the sounds. I first ran it stock from track power to be sure the sound worked and discovered that those early boards don't seem to like PWM. I never could get it to operate properly and the sounds weren't all that great. I finally decided my time and money was better spend installing a MyLocoSound board with the RailBoss rather than trying to match the wiring on the stock board. I went with the automatic chuff on the MLS board and stuffed a 14.8V Li-Ion pack in the tender with the MLS and Railboss. I redid the wiring on the connector PC board under the tender and repurposed the PC boards in the loco. The motor of course works, along with the front headlight. Mine has a circuit for firebox glow which isn't fussy about voltage or polarity, so I was able to reuse it as well. If you are interested I take some photos and probably come up with a wiring diagram.
