The Vectis auction is on the 26th August..
Someone 'in the know' how early can you put a bid in? - I am also wary of their postage and commission charges..

More research to do..

If you win a bid, the auction house need you payment details immediately for payment, so the original owner can get their payment. This is standard practice :)

Once you have an account you can leave a bid in advance. I have bought and sold through Vectis and found their service good. Details of fees etc. are on the website. All auction houses now seem to charge both buyers and sellers fees.

Do not ebay have your credit/bank card and personal details?
Not if you are only buying, you can still buy via PayPal, however if you wish to sell they now need you bank details.

Ah yes the system has changed so that you can use credit card, but you still need to be registered and have a log in to ebay which was part of my point to Chop.

So the asking prices for 3.5" Rocket stuff haven't really changed much since I bought my second hand one 15-20 years ago (I forget exactly when). £150 for the main set and £150 for a coach.
Sadly my loco never really ran well at all other than on blocks, so it's relegated to a shelf queen. IMG_5383.JPG

Yep, since they sold off Paypal.

So I opened an online account with £100 in it, and registered that for my ebay sales :nod: ('cos our main bank account is joint with Mrs Rhino, and ebay won't let you register a joint account.)
