I joined nearly 7 years but did nothing other than a bit of lurking around.I would like to say hello to everyone again , and hope to be active in the forums and will start posting on the new railway i have started this year. I have built the foundations out of stacking blocks and have filled it with soil and broken up concrete.I will have to wait a few more months for this to settle properly, the fill has already dropped a lot over winter .Over the years i have collected a fair bit of the thomas range when it came along at decent prices, pretty far between lately. My plan was to make a British themed railway by adding detail to the Thomas stuff , i have been very inspired by the excellent conversions displayed on this forum , i have nearly finished Percy . I had a track plan worked out , all on 1 level and 2.4m diameter curves , but something just didn't gel right with me about the standard gauge models on narrow gauge, So since i haven't laid any track yet anyway , only scratch built a couple of buildings and put in place a few of the 7 -8 tonnes of bush rock i have been collecting for this over the years i am making a complete about face and will model the modern Rhb something i have been fascinated with watching on youtube for many years now .The rocks i hope should make a nice approximation of the alps. I know the lgb stuff is eye wateringly expensive here in australia, but shorter prototypical trains means i can get away with buying less and hopefully i can make some decent models to fill the gaps. I have a heap of lgb specific questions to ask ,as i have no experience with lgb models.
