Depressed Center Flat Car

Next project....

After the Heavy Load Center Depressed Car i have started on a new project a depressed Center Flat Car after inspiration from USA Trains models.

I'm modeling in Autodesk Inventor, and it always interesting to think how to create a model.

I have decided to spilt it in 3 major parts the same way as the Heavy load car, and split it in to frame & deck

Each frame module consists of several parts.


At the moment I have printed one end part & a center part


The next end module is on the way....

First print - The bed frame f...ed-up twice. I tried to lift the bed plate to make it easier to get off the plane,
but that was not a succes - it gave a 0,2mm support layer I can't get off.

Hi, Steen. I printed off one of the ends and had a similar problem trying to remove the support mesh from the top level of the piece. When I print the second end I think I'll trim the the top off the 3 lugs which cause the top face to be raised above the bed.
