After sitting in the shed for over two years I finally got round to completing the Piko fire Station kit. I'm on the look out for a better G scale fire engine, this one was a 50p car boot purchase, and the fireman are del Prado metal figures

2018 and we back up and running , I've just looked back through this thread of mine and then took a look outside and realised there is a fair bit of work to do to get things as they were, and I'm sure the garage and shed were spotlessly tidy when I was last in there in October , however they now resemble the aftermath of major disaster, I'd blame the kids but they rarely stray far from their Ipads.

Still , a day off work tomorrow so a start will be made

Pics from yesterdays first run of the year.

As that Fire Engine only cost around 50p, why not detail it up and give it a repaint to current Fire Engine Colours? You could totally transform it to something that would be very desirable. The you can spend the money saved on something else for the Railway.

I must say Rick, you manage to keep your railway clear of debris, it always looks well turned out.
I take it all the vehicles and smaller items are stored when you aren't running ?

Hi Paul

Thanks mate for your comments, the photo's probably make things look better and neater than they are, but everything stays out all year round apart from the figures and a couple of buildings that hide in the shed for winter. The cars are mainly all car boot finds for around a £1 each so it doesn't matter too much if they suffer a bit of weather damage.

Yep Steve I'm still about , and good to see you appear on the forum from time to time and good to see your railways, it would be great to see a few more members for years ago reappear on here , and maybe a running day or something

2019 and we are back again , last night a days shopping was mentioned by Mrs J, so thinking quick on my feet I explained that as fun as that sounded I was planning to see if I could get some trains moving after the winter suspension of services on the CCLR.
So with my track rubber , & trusty LGB track cleaning loco ( the PIKO battery one has been binned) I set off in to the wilds of the garden at first light , a couple of hours later and the addition of a few track clamps we were back up and running :):):):):):), not perfect running but I will work on that over the coming weeks

First train of the day , a small goods delivering beer for the thirsty residents

And the first passenger service of the year

Perfectly serviceable loco.. No really much comparison to the LGB beastie, but the loco is OK.. :)

I'll give you a tenner for it, any day! ;)
