Got my first chance, today, to further test the bridges and extension. When I made the bridges I sort of made allowances for keeping the 45 tonner intact. I say sort of because, in reality, I had never (recently) measured its width
I had a notion that if I allowed for the track at a 3" centre from the bridge 'steelwork' things would be OK.
They were, but only just
I was always taught that "near enough is not good enough" but it this case it will have to be! 3 - 4mm clearance from the sides ...
So if that thing can get through then most other large things will make it too (radii excepted)

Thanks Rob - got to knuckle down now and create my official opening crowd! Its more time consuming than I thought it would be. I know how I want it to be but somehow I don't think I'll be able to delver according to my wants

Mine is a later version with open outlets and smoke units (now removed). However, because of all the complex electronics that I have inserted after having ripped out all of the Bachmann complex electronics , I have had to cap off the exhausts at the bottom, in order to afford protection in case of any extraneous rain drops disappearing straight down the pipe 
As a battery powered 'thing', it could be used in many weathers

I left it out of the box yesterday - I keep thinking about altering it - lowering the cab and narrowing it (that's a recurring fault of mine, thinking!). However, a fellow forum member is after one so I have PM'd him.
Yes, your battery conversion intrigued me and gave food for thought. My trouble is I don't do much bashing and maybe I should. It's the 'deep pockets and short arms' syndrome
I have considered using the bogies (and the smoke unit for an Annie) for a couple of projects which would provide two new locos and restore another but.......

How close is your loco to the bridge sides

And, I'm just ordering some cabside name plates - that'll take another 0.5 mm off each side
