I got round to running my favourite loco for the 1st time this year…in fact I haven’t been able to run anything in the past 6 months, so it was great to get out into the garden again for a little running session.
The loco has been converted to battery DCC radio control with sound, using a Zimmo decoder and Train Engineer Revolution transmitter and receiver.
NiMH Batteries supplied by Fosworks.
She is an absolute joy to operate and I have got over 3 hours run time with all my converted locos.
I’m at a crossroads at present as I’m considering moving and if it happens I may not have enough outside space for a railway. Apart from the K28, almost everything else is to 1:20.3.
So weather permitting, I’ll get as much enjoyment as I can before making the decision.

I think the best I could accomplish would be an N gauge layout on the balcony

I have a 1/20.3 Accucraft K27 - r/c and sound, and build most of my own cars using coffee stirrers.

Although I have built many 0 gauge brass and nickel silver loco and rolling stock kits, I never ventured into scratch building and succumbed to Accucraft stock.
I also converted my Accucraft K27 to battery/DCC radio control. The photo shows the set up with the receiver atop the air tight speaker enclosure I made.
Also added a photo of my converted Bachmann C19

Aster/Lgb K28 = 1/22.5 scale.

Accucraft railroad cars K27 = 1/20.3 scale.

Anybody noticed yet?

Yes…I originally bought Piko stock to go with my k28, but it didn’t look right. It’s a large loco and blends in well with the 1:20.3 stock

So…k28 and K27 both pulling Accucraft stock. The K28 looks fine with those huge coaches :)

I was told TE Revolution will not work with ZIMO, no SUSI which ZIMO needs.
How do you do it, and which TE Revolution exactly are you using?
(I shouldn't describe my electroNIX knowledge as scant, I have non and need to be walked thru everything).
TNX for clarifications!

Hi Rrentren,
I use the Train Engineer 59000 DCC 5A
And for the K27 & K28 the Zimo MX699KS.
The receiver is wired directly into the decoder.

Thanks! Now I understand.
My TE Revo 57002, OnBoard RX w/sound couldn't work.
Problem with my TE Revo electronics is the sound, heavy N.Am diesel, while mine ought to be emitted by a 2 1/2ft Austrian narrow gauge model LGB 2095 (see illustration: roughly 65ft or about 20m).
Awesome noise, I assure you!! Blast from the horn lifts the ceiling …
I lowered the volume (press numerals 7 to 9 for volume control) but it's still way to loud nor the kind of small 'diesel hammer', or a European style horn.
I'm a bit at a loss.
Maybe MyLocoSound could work but I do not know how to asses that in conjunction with TE Revo 57002.

You can use the Aux connections to trigger MyLocoSound from the Revolution receiver.

Gone 11pm here, and it is raining, else I would go grab a Revo Rx and MLS from the workshop..

TNX very much.
You must be in Kaslo by your description of the weather.
I hoped for some such possibility. Next step would be submitting an ÖBB 2095 sound file to put it onto
Custom Sounds for MyLocoSound.
I'd tho' still be interested into whatever add'l info wrt Revo Rx and MLS from the workshop you would have once the night is gone and the rain has stoppe.
Kaslo weather to improve come Monday, btw. Best!! -- Ren

You could do worse than looking here:

The downloads section will supply you with schematics to connect a MyLocoSound card to a Revolution receiver.

Rentren,

We would be happy to research this one for you. Apart from the wide range of sounds we have on our standard soundcards, we also build custom soundcards for specific locos for a small extra fee. Either way we need to hear the sounds of the prototype. I have searched YouTube but can't find any videos of the Class 2095 in action. Do you know of any please?

Regards
Peter Lucas

Once I have my personal sound files I'll put a sample here of the ÖBB 2095 diesel, ...like late this year when I plan to be back in the 'old world'.
