In between trains, Kionslieu is a haven of tranquility. The coal fire blazes away in the waiting room even though it is early August, the Stationmaster passes the time completing his Daily Sketch crossword and the only sounds are those of passing birds and the ticking of the station clock.
Ah pugwash, that would be because they are two different railcars (Donegal numbers 19 and 20). The Irish used to run them separately, using turn tables, (clever the Irish). However when they got over here, although a turntable was purchased with them, they would run back to back, with the van in between to cater for any goods traffic. Ultimately this resulted in part of their downfall, as the gearboxes became knackered as result of being dragged backwards for the thirty or so years we had them. The real things are currently awaiting restoration, but don't hold your breath.
The Sunday "off peak" timetable gives F&St.M PW Chargehand Ffinlo Qualtrough a chance to trundle the gangers "Lorry" through the entire length of his empire. "Kippers" Kerruish had been fast asleep on double time in the lamp room at Archallagan, but heard the rumble of the wheels just in time to grab a broom and look busy.

I'm most impressed with the station building, looks so real.
Vintage Transport Weekend, and a chance to run the old four wheelers on a special working for the Victorian Society. The goods wagon next to the loco contains the tea urn and picnic tables, as a stop has been scheduled at the long closed Ballahowin Bridge station. After cakes and sandwiches the party will have a few minutes to view the waterfall before the journey continues on to the Cronk Dhoo Mines

I have seen these figures many times on layouts. Where are the from?

Having said that, I do think that at least three have escaped my miniature fantasy land, one can be seen quite frequently as an avatar on this very forum for a much esteemed member, another resides about half a mile from me on an indoor layout and one managed to get to Barnsley somehow.
I fancied having a double decker bus, but didn't fancy paying for one of those Sunstar 1/24ths scale models, nice as they are.
