Tank 4, rod ends disguised with pen tops, glued on, safety valves or something?

I want this tank to be a quirky ad for "Green Biodiesel"

hence the leaves,

any ideas

what colour the leaves?

gold/yellow to contrast with the green of the tank

or tank ends yellow, safety feature? with green leaves

And I thought a large golden drop of fluid on the end of the spout,

but

what do I make that from so it would be firm yet realistic
