A Railway in South Brittany

I have been doing some work with a jigstone mould to make a cobbled yard for the brewery

Looking good! I used to have a kit years ago for moulding plaster of paris sections like the ones you're using there. It had moulds for doors and windows and wall sections. Wish I still had it now.

The pic belies the length of the bridge. What are using for the bridge deck? It looks nice on those bridge piers.

A railway suspension bridge - how very French ! Good work ! Looks like you've been patronising M. Bricolage.

The deck is 2 pieces of ally angle 3? x 1? 2.7m long it was the cheapest way of doing it and got it from a ally stockholders in the UK. The flat strips are as someone said courtesy of Bricomarche, but they ran out so awaiting fresh supplies.
The bridge piers are thermalite blocks awaiting some stone carving.
The Bridge is loosely modelled on the 'Pont Gisclard ou de La Cassagne' in France, where else. so there is a prototype.

Thats not actually a suspension bridge. The diagonal ties are solid from the towers.
Need someone to google it to find its techincal name. - something like an 'external stressed deck'.
But it is great.

Nice job - well done:thumbup:

Hi all, a long story but thought I would add a post to this topic even if I start another one. After two wet winters, and a bad back last summer the weeds on the railway were getting away from me, so the thought was to concrete over it all and pretty much start again or move indoor into the hanger and build a new railway at 3 foot high. After much deliberation the latter was decided.

I plead my weed case meLord

The inside of what I call my Garden shed, just going to take up part of it for an indoor layout approximately 12m x 3.5m. I will probably have quite a bit of track leftover after the downsizing but will try and stuff as much as possible in a small space.

I will utilise some of the rack track to climbed to a higher level with possibly a shuttle end to end
