It isn't - it's 1.5 degrees outside, yet the snow doth melt.......
The R3 points are nicely picked out once I ran a plank across the surface to expose the railhead under the snow.

Excellent pictures, Paul.
I think we must have the wrong sort of snow here in this part of Cheshire.

On a practical note:
What is your 'disposal' procedure, once you finish running in these conditions?

I put the locos and stock on a towel on the floor until all the snow has melted and the rolling stock is dry, then they get placed back in the "depot".
If snow falls on the stock, I dab them clean with kitchen roll.

Thanks..

I guess even if they come in 'dry', they are so cold you get condensation from moisture in the air?

Yes, it is important to dry them quickly.
The storage of locos has been discussed before on this forum - not a god idea to keep them in a cold damp environment.

Still can't get over how good that Engerth looks..... Paul, I know you've told us briefly what you did to get her running well (Regner body grafted onto LGB "Rugen" running chassis, IIRC?), but did you take any photos while actually doing it, and/or could you give us a write-up of how it went?

Thanks Jon.
I will have to search through my photos - I did take some, it wasn't that difficult to do.
It was much easier to convert than putting a pulsed smoke unit in a Stainz !
The most difficult bit is getting hold of a Regner Engerth.

The conversion came about because of sheer frustration with the live steam Regner - it was bloody hopeless.

I'm pretty certain that I saw an Engerth on a recent TV railway programme - but I can't remember which one it was :eek:

Senility................. etc
