The February project is still under way , however ...

I retrieved another box, and gave these bits a bit of a prep wash, ... (not in the washing machine ;))

which will (I hope, given my ten thumbs) assemble into this. Another kit that I've had sitting around for years.
Having always had a soft spot for Tetbury shed

The station buildings will be on the black platform planks, the loco shed on the single siding opposite them.
It'll probably be May before I can actually get out there.

Corr! Fancy clamps there. I tend to just stick my fingers together!
I used a generous seam of silicon or frame sealer to reinforce the corners of resin buildings - seems to work well.

....
You can get the "fancy clamps" from e.g. Hobbycraft £6 for 9. I use them a lot, they have a good grip although weak but you can put several in place to give the grip you need.

You never have enough clamps.....;)

Friday evening and the water tower walls are together, after a bit of  and :swear:. I had forgotten how fiddly resin kits can be . OTOH, it's easier than carving stone courses into auto body filler or suchlike.

Note the reinforcements. The walls are not absolutely square. However, anyone counting rivets, or stone courses, will be thrown into the ash pit immediately before the hot coals are raked out of old Thunderer's firebox.
The shed walls will require quite a bit of fettling before I can join them to the tower's back wall. Hand me the coarse sandpaper, Anna Maria. I also have to go out to my favourite tool pusher :D and acquire fresh CA. I dug out a couple of bottles that have been sitting around for a bit too long and have gone off. Very off. My fault; I know the stuff has a definite shelf life.

I note a certain translucence (worklight overhead). I think I shall apply a couple of coats of paint inside.
Onward :nerd:.

Good idea, especially if you intend to light this building.

I was sent out to fetch coffee this morning, so I took the opportunity to extend the trip a mile to the tool store :D, where I bought CA.
On my return, and after consuming my share of the coffee ;), I started to put the water tank together.

I used the CA to join the tank sides, because I needed a fast set. Reverted to slow-cure epoxy to stick the roof on, to allow time to adjust the fit. The tower made a convenient clamping stand. And now we wait for the cure :snooze: ... watched epoxy never sets .

Warm it up - very hot but not boiling water will move it.

That's the small problem with resin kits the bits are prone to warping and shrinking. Mind you, a bit of care and filling in the right places they make great models

The joints on resin building need to be FULL of glue. This keeps water and frost out, which is what usually dismantles kits in the winter!
I used thick super glue from the Aero boys - slower to set but fills gaps..
