The replacement battery turned up, so i thought I'd try a quick sound and motion test pulling some weight (with the rods properky installed :D )

The shunter itself is pretty lightweight

Whereas my Tenmille wagon is a bit of a lump

So as the shunter has PLA wheels with no traction tyres, i was doubtful.

Please excuse the uneven track, it's temporary :)

Some detail of variations in the drop down door catches. Never seen a handrail in that position, but why not.
Also a variation in the lower handrail on the front door.

One of the most noticeable differences, I reckon, is ladder(s) / no ladder(s)..

Preserved examples tend to have the ladder reinstated. That particular one is "Gladys" from the Dean Forest Railway.

I wonder if ladder removal was down to overhead power supply issues of climbing them and likely injuries/deaths. I have always wondered what on earth they were for?
