Layout looks really good Kim.

I have an LGB track cleaner and while it is good once the really bad crud is removed, it does have trouble with my incline until the track is partially clean.
I was thinking about a battery jobbie and the Piko one could do the business of carrying out the 'first' passes before the LGB one is utilised.
Is the Piko one good on really badly oxidised track?

I like it Mike but it aint a quick fix, the cleaning pads are on the skates and have a metal grid in the fabric that do pick up the crud. The batteries in mine last about 2 hours so I put it out early on a running day and finish off with the lgb track cleaner prior to trains out. All in all I have no regrets in buying this.

One word answer? No.. - It takes too long.

It relies on the springs of the skates to apply pressure, so quite 'gentle'.

It DOES clean track, but you need it to be running round for quite a while.. One big advantage, is it is a lot less aggressive then the LGB track cleaning loco, and (almost) silent.

Just my opinion, of course.

The day started with wall to wal! Blue in sunny Blackpool so full train day was planned and then the clouds arrived! Did a bit of ballasting then out came mallet 250 to stretch its pistons.

It makes a nice change to 'have you done that job yet, I asked you three weeks ago.........' etc etc! Cold here but nice when sun's out. Speaking of se!ling trains I am thinking about off loading my F7's and associated coaches.

The Rio Grande A+B and coaches and Santa Fe A+B and coaches are lovely but the coaches are, for me, to big and I have marks on a couple of coaches so I leave them on the shelf and stick to electric steamers.

It's ok at pulling a couple of box cars but have stand by batteries ready! I have to say, again, that I have no regrets about buying this loco.
