Tender has been duly rattle canned with matt black, just needs the flying Rio Grande decals. I have a set somewhere in the house but can I find them............

Liking what I have done with the Aristo long steel tender that I have had for years I remembered seeing another for sale at GRS some time ago, had a look and it was still there. The operative word here being 'was' because it's now mated upto mallet 251 and it is going to be kept as a coal burner. As soon as I get 250's chip back from Massoth via Mark I will post pics of them togetber, 250 being an oil burner.

I used to have this on the forum many moons ago so rather than trying to find it I thought I would start again. It will never come close to some of the offerings on here, I am not even a mediocre modeller, big hands etc. When I open a pot of paint my fingers are full of it before I reach for the brush, let's not mention glue!
Winton has seen many guises over the last 15 years and recently had a big rebuild for the construction of a fence hugging circuit with 10' diameter curves for the new Rio Grande F7A+B and stock.
There has also been a recent land grab that I appear to have got away with and together with the town is the subject of these few pics. I finish my part time work at the end of June and hope to have July, August and September on the railway but I have applied for a seasonal post at Blackpool zoo as an engine driver!! Great envy is mine.

Decided to run both as coal burners so after much rumaging in bins to find the necessary bits for the reclaimed tender here we are, coal pushers reinstated, dog houses in same position etc.......

After a nice walk along a breezy prom time for a train, two lgb 2-4-0's consisted with a mixed ore and coal train, the loco's look well together being broad and bulky. They share a recently repaired lgb american sound unit that I'm still playing with cv3 to get the chuffs rightish.

All change again at Winton! This year will see a loco depot as the main theme with a two road shed feeding into the servicing spur and thence into service on the inner track circuit, should be a couple of loco spurs in there somewhere as well. There's space for a turntable that, if it happens, will be for show only with a PVC-u channel mounted in a concrete basin, we'll see.
The station will have three tracks fed from the main and local coming in from the back of the shed and the track that ran round the raised bed on the left has been lifted to give more garden room. Has to happen sometimes!!

Yeah, the Fat Boys are good haulers - not enough wheels for my liking :p although I had one as my first g scale loco, quite a few years ago now

This years Winton is nearly there, dropped down to one circuit this year, just makes it a bit easier. Start leveling and ballasting tomorrow and then track cleaning.
