Nice work!

Do you have a hefty enough lathe to turn the wheel profiles with a form tool, or do you have to change the topslide angle and tool position twice for each wheel with corresponding high measurement effort to stay on size? Or is there another trick I'm missing here?

I trim an aluminum cylinder then I bore the center.
I work it with the inclined tool, I remove the necessary millimeters where the track approaches.
I never turn the wheel, at the end I cut it with a cutting tool.
I could make the whole wheel only with the cutting tool by turning the head 7-8 °
cut away the wheel I pass to the next and with the caliber I try to make it the same..

I started building the barrels

Thanks for the lathework description. All makes sense. So - your flange angle is made by the tool you cut the tread with (the narrower part that sits on the track) and... you're not cutting the tread to a slight cone? Fair enough, it clearly works. I think I was overthinking slightly. I have turned wheels successfully, but not efficiently :)

Lovely work on the barrel. Your woodwork is great. Thanks for sharing :)

The barrels are fantastic - way, way more patience than I will ever possess :clap::clap::clap:

The only thing that worries me, is the idea of G scale wine measures - I mean, that's taking moderation a bit too far :sweating::sweating::sweating:

Lovely work! Really like your brakes. Sometimes model train brake gear ends up a vague approximation (I'm rather guilty of that one, but so are some manufacturers...) - but yours look just like they work.

Outstanding work, there's nothing I can add to what's been said already.
