We've had threads for looking at the prototypes behind the LGB model range. What about one for those prototypes that will never be produced commercially, but would make great scratchbuilding or kitbashing projects?
Here are a couple of starters. both from the 3ft gauge Soller Railway on Mallorca. They date from the inter-war period and both are still active. The small one was (I think) made from a Citroen car on a railway trolley base, while the large one is a Hispano Suiza powered overhead line maintenance vehicle. If you didn't have catenery, a look-alike version for mail and parcels might be made from an LGB rail truck and part of a boxcar - a sort of "shorty" Galloping Goose.
