What happened at your workbench today?

I have seen similar 'trolleys' at potteries and sanitary ware works..
They are loaded, then man-handled a short distance to a chain-driven system which pulls them through the kiln to fire the bricks / ware.

I don't think they are used to move them very far from where the 'product' is produced?

So maybe it's useful to do so, maybe not.
while the ovens to burn the bricks are a permanent affair, the places, where to find good clay get exhausted and change.
in any case either the clay, or the formed bricks have to be moved to the ovens.
in my eyes it would make perfect sense to move the clay mixer and press to the clay and transport the wet pre-bricks to the ovens by rail.

Thank you! I have mentioned similar things to them several times over the past few years, and never gotten a reaction. So maybe it's useful to do so, maybe not. If I feel like a good citizen I may do it.
Rhino is certainly correct about being fired for strength. There were similar wagons to this at a works near to where I lived in Hemel at a brickworks just outside Bovingdon village, closed after I moved in 2012. Thinking about the load, purchased bricks of that size can be pretty expensive and as you say heavy in bulk. Have you thought about a lightweight centre with say 1 or 2 layers of bricks glued to the outside for looks?

Sounds like a plan

I bought my bricks on bloxxs.de for €37,50 including shipping.
Each bag of bricks weighs about 400 grams. I bought 3 bags. I think the lorry will be able to roll happily along.
