I wonder if they would be less prone to uncoupling than some of the LBG Toy Train are?I think they may be early Newray?
ECR are doing these on EvilBay, and they appear to have a downward hook?

they are just as reliable, as LBG/Playmo.I wonder if they would be less prone to uncoupling than some of the LBG Toy Train are?
Was it a glued job or a moulding that has been trashed due to a nose dive from a height?Just caught this in time, I think?

A liberal bath in IPA, and the other side is coming away as well. - Suggests the glue is coming to the end of its life?
You start one job..........

Jon, it has been 'hacked' and glued..Was it a glued job or a moulding that has been trashed due to a nose dive from a height?
Scary conversion, I can see the desire but a scratch chassis would have been a more robust and expensive job. I expect in the day they would have had a lot of punters looking for a 32mm gauge version.Jon, it has been 'hacked' and glued..
These were a very limited number, converted to 32mm gauge by GRS. The blocks cut-down so everything could be moved inwards.
There are gaps where the cuts have not been very accurate.
I have bonded where it touches with Tamiya thin cement. I will now use something thicker, to fill the gaps and add strength.
These are not the most robust units to start with, and the modifications don't help.
