The cable should be able to take the full wattage that can be used from the the power supply.
So if using a Massoth 1200Z at 22v and a maximum of 12amps W= V x A = 22 x 12 = 264 watts.
Electrical lighting cable is fine (1mm2 cross section).
Voltage loss from 1mm2 cable is not heavy at up to 20metres
