Atleast 10K there.. Not good..

Erm not sure what you are going on about here. Those weathered trains look so much better to my eye. I would certainly bid them if I needed them. Most are not my bag sadly.

I will in due course be weathering many more of my LGB Items. Loss of value! To my eye the work stained stock - DONE WELL - HAS ADDED VALUE.

I can see some full size stuff in the uk looking like this in service, but can't see it for Swiss trains! Everything I saw over there was so clean, even the stuff that was over 50 years old!

That is pretty true, but even immaculate trains do have some weathering. Plus some of his Locomotives are of German Prototypes (some of the puffers) and really do look good to my eye.

Makes you wonder how they were left out for so long to acheive that proper weathering, and more to the point why...

Mayde there is something in the blurb to translate.....not that i am going to..

As most of you will know, I agree with Jon when it comes to weathering. IMO it can make the difference between a realistic look or that of a toy. However, I have to say that the thing that worries me about these models is what's been done with the windows! Not sure what has caused the fogging or whether they're meant to be that way, but completely hiding the interior detail seems a bit OTT?

I only looked at a couple of the items. The descriptions seemed to be saying they've had a hard life. Perhaps they come from a public exhibit that's now defunct.

Some clear plastic will 'fog' with excessive exposure to sunlight. I think that this is what may have happened.

As to their appearance...they do look pretty well weathered. Replace the glazing with some 'dirtied up' clear and you have some quite realistic rolling stock!
Of course if they have been exposed for a long time to sunlight, even LGB plastic can become a little brittle.

Whizzy Cranks diesel with pantographs  :rolf:
The oil tankers look quite effective, but the coaches look like they are awaiting the cutters torch :clown::nail:

It looks like they have been left out and been underwater at some point. That's maybe borne out by the loco's, which are all being sold for spares - although that hasn't stopped some enthusiastic bidding.

Damm it, won't post to the UK, and i was so not looking forward to bidding.:rolf::rolf:

There no whizzy cranks though? I think he's put it on other bogies?? Odd about the coach windows for sure.

If he had a theme park, and the punters paid money to see the model railway over the years, (plenty of out door layouts open to the public in Germany) then I doubt if the owner is worried, he's more than likely recovered his outlay. What it does tell me is the owner wanted reliability and chose LGB. Alyn

Yes you are quite right he has changed the bogies ! He has not changed the number thought. It's still 2095.11
and it still looks like an OBB Diesel with pantographs on top in my opinion :'(

Most realistic LGB i've seen in a long time.
Yes I agree ,no sparkly brass, shiny plastic or sheen to be seen anywhere

Well his RhB resturant coach went for just shy of 80 quid, i was watching it, would have paid that much myself,
could of been a nice little restoration job, and a repaint, would like a green one, even though they never were, rule 8 et al.

But wouldnt post to UK so not to be..
