Definitely 'up the hill'..
Not sure I will have the time (or money) to do the WLLR as well.. :(

Very probably...
Looking forward to sunshine and the beer tent..hopefully with Purple Moose

I've done a quick search, but can't find exhibitor or trader details for the garden rail show.
I'm assuming that the G scale soc bring and buy will be there...as I've been prepping things for sale

We are travelling up by train overnighting in Shrewsbury and then spending the weekend at our usual haunt - The Royal Oak. Hope to see you either on the train or at the show. Will probably be on the 1015 from Welshpool and be at the Show about 1130.

Thanks for the info....G Scale Soc running the bring and buy.

Have a bulky load to take, probably 3 carrier bags, not heavy, just awkward to carry.
Could squeeze in the bus, or crawl by foot up the hill.

Probably the latter, as it creates thirst or burns off the beer, depending upon time of day!

Malcolm

oh yes, and lucky for me I only live 10 minutes away......get in!!
Have a great weekend all

We're booked into a B&B partway between Welshpool and Llanfair, Friday and Saturday nights, so will hopefully be at the show at opening time on Saturday. We may be looking for somewhere nice for a meal on Saturday evening, so if The Royal Oak is recommended then we might just come and annoy you keep you company for a couple of hours..... ;)

Jon.

Now, who on here was it I got some 12V LED 'coach' strips from at Stafford?
And are they going to be selling at Llanfair? ::)

The Corn Store on Church Street, just around the corner from the Royal Oak is recommended.

Thanks for the tip, Martin - don't worry, I was joking about Saturday evening, if you've got the Memsahib with you then the last thing you're going to want is three blokes off the leash and talking about trains all evening.... ;)

We might check out the Royal Oak for the Friday night though, if the food is good?

Hope to catch you at the show on Saturday - I will most likely be wearing "the red hat" at the show, though probably not at the train gala (I don't want people thinking I work there!) :o

The food is not bad, can get a bit noisy. Will look out for you on Friday. We should arrive late in the afternoon from Shrewsbury.

Morning all I enjoyed my day out thanks to Mike Duffy, I pinched his stick for the day so he couldn't get around ( I forgot mine in the rush) we don't go on a Saturday normally so we were pleased that it wasn't too busy as Keith is in a wheelchair, I wasn't going for anything but somehow I ended up with 4 RhB coaches, are retied chairman said they were very nice for a big layout so I will have to rebuild one URG at 83 I don't think so, I hope the guys running it will do it again Les

Here with some photos from Saturday
