Hi Folks.

I thought I would just put a reminder about the WLLR gala on here in case anyone is at a loose end this weekend. Our van loaded with our part of the 16mm modular layout. Hope to see some of you there on Saturday. Free entry with a gala ticket or £6.00 each if just going to the garden rail show. I know some others from here are also going, including Philip from RC trains.

Regards,

David

How I wish

I'll be there in the morning. I have to leave just before midday - family commitments.

BTW - when does the garden railway show open? I can't seem to find an opening time. 10:00am??

Yes...
Well, that is what we are working on. - No, it isn't on the flyers..

Our instructions say we are not to start packing until 4pm.

We are driving over straight from home, dropping in to Raven Square to see how the new Station Master is getting on, and arriving not shortly after.

Heading there shortly....

I saw everybody I wanted to see and had a great look around. Mrs tac, however, was unimpressed with the Indian Hill layout - 'where are the hordes of natives clinging to every exposed part of the train?' She was very disappointed....
I do wonder how 'PC' the Ain't Half Hot crew, are these days? - The 'characters' that are available to populate Mini-Madras.

I know we're are all from an age when attitudes were different. - As was the world we were living in.

Never saw much of that on the DHR, clearances we’re pretty tight and low cables kept roofs empty. However in Bangladesh you sometimes couldn’t see locos for humanity hanging on at every possible grasping opportunity!

It always seems that the value of life in some countries is far less than the value of getting to work!

Well we do get idiots hanging to trains, trams and busses but tends to be youth looking for kicks though I expect some will be about saving costs of paying. But nor sides or roofs full just the odd one or two here and there. I well remember my trip to India in 1987 where we traveled from Jodhpur to Udaipur on an overnight train with many on the roof. Most pertinent memory was the shouts passing along the train when a bridge was encountered whilst climbing the Ghat.
