It seems that I will be unlucky to find a used programmer for sale so...
I have only a few Massoth boards and I need to change the sounds on them. I have mainly ESU boards so I will probably not need a Massoth programmer for much else, so maybe buying one is a little extravagant.

Would anyone be prepared to loan me their PC programmer so that I can change the sounds. I would take very good care of it and it would be done quickly.

Mike, I would be prepared to load the sound-files for you, but would not want to be without my programming module, as I do not know what installation jobs are coming my way..

PM me if I can be of assistance.
Phil Partridge.

I have the LGB 55045 (and 55060) PC Programmer which I can loan you Mike, if they are suitable for your needs.

I can even lend you a Laptop with the software too....

Hi Phil...many thanks..if no-one comes up trumps I may take your kind offer. :D

Gizzy, the LGB one cannot do the sound file swap over, but thanks for the offer :D

Mike, I'm happy to loan one to you... will package it up today, post later or tomorrow by RMSD.

Hi Mark, you are an absolute gentleman sir!

I will of course pay you for your trouble and expense.
Do you have my address on record?

Mike

Yep, I do.

I will be taking loan of a unit from that kind man Mark of 'Garden Rail Outlet'.
He who goes more than the extra mile for us.
He who is always generous with his time...one will never forget the amount of Massoth Navigator and Central Station updating that he did at the last G-Rail. He didn't even want payment for it, but it was with gratitude that a donation was made.

Cheers Mark

glendale have the two on there second hand site for 100 if you want to buy them,,,, seen a few of these around recently too

Couldn't find the PC modules on the Glendale site....however you can get new ones for £95 if you look in the right place... http://www.gardenrailoutlet.co.uk/massoth-dimax-pc-module ;D

You can use these to change CV's on any decoder..
What you are NOT able to do, is load sound-files, or load updated firmware* - For this you normally need the propriety manufacturers device. :(
So presently, I have units from Massoth and Phoenix Sound. With Zimo looking like it might be coming up on the rails! - This can get quite expensive, quite quickly. Hence people tend to stick with a single manufacturer.

* Firmware can be updated on some devices, but is manufacturer dependent.
