Want to add effective smoke to my battery powered Aristocraft C16 2-8-0

I envision using the most effective smoke unit (whichever that might be) and stringing wires from the smoke unit through the loco and the tender to a plug that can connect to a plug in the current trailing main battery car that would now house an additional battery (Lithium) with charger receptacle and switch and would be switched on when train power was switched on. I would like it to provide battery juice with off and on cycles so the smoke unit could virtually smoke for the entire run yet not overheat or run dry. I'm not sure how to do this electronically and would appreciate any assistance. Thanks, Jim

In my opinion, none of the smoke units that produce lots of smoke have an auto off circuit worth anything.

I assume you want it to "puff" in sync with the pistons.

So the easiest way is a sound system that has chuff sensors and can also drive the fan in a smoke unit in sync.

I'd go Zimo for sure since you are in the USA, ESU and Massoth support is not great in the US. The Zimo has been installed in quite a few locos and great support people here.
