I have been building some Gauge 3 Wagon Kits, on one of them I have had to resort to putting BA screws in the sideframe to hold axle-guards in place. This means that they need to be disguised and my best option is thinking about Wagon Number and Builders plates, not important for real detail on them. I guess I could scratch some and may end up doing just that but have been fruitlessly searching through manufacturers bits and bobs with the hope of finding something, thus far no luck..

Any ideas please?

I’d suggest you try Peter Wood (peters miniature nameplates) of Doncaster,
He has wagon plates illustrated on his promo material . He makes the plates to order
He’s made a series of loco plates for me over the last couple of years

Not sure how much you want to spend, and you may have already have tried Light Railway Stores(was Narrow Planet) who do custom plates:

They do 16mm and 7/8ths which would be close to Gauge 3(?). I have used them for 7mm GWR loco plates. MDC have made me custom plates for renumbering my LGB locos.

Thanks not sure that I want to spend that much for something that may get lost as to remove for future work if required they will need to be attached in a light way, possibly blue tack or PVA. I was hoping for a large scale set of plastic generic or regional wagon plates if such a thing exists any scale from 16-15mm to the foot. But it looks like I am looking for rocking horse do do. Any of those scales would work for G3 which is around the same scale as us At 1:24 or thereabouts.
