Probably not but you would need a tin hat!

The possibility of being blinded by flying ballast is a draw back. Having your loco's rolling stock & infrastructure shot- blasted may also not be in your best interest.

It has an element of 'Heath Robinson' about it - but that's the best that can be said for it :D

Postage charges are pretty unique too - £40 (or £80 for priority) to the Emerald Isle!

A little information on the subject wagon.
The flail wagon was used to good effect on the late Alf Bacon?s railway to control vegetation. He had several other special wagons which he used to clean, sweep, weed kill and generally keep the railway running in good order. Most of these tasks were carried out before his visitors arrived.
The wagons were well engineered for their particular tasks and performed well. I should add Alf?s track was not ballasted.
The current seller is the chap who purchased some of Alf?s collection at the recent auction including the item subject of thread http://www.gscalecentral.net/m126175 .
