underfloor layout !

Amazing - So all they need now is some Q,R,A,C,D & S stock. Calling Bachmann, any chance you could upscale some of that LU stuff you released in a smaller scale. Max

O very nice

Very nice, but it must be back-breaking carrying out maintenance! Notice the triple-decker - would that be an RML3D?

The whole thing was superbly done but I love the Street Tramway Section ending with the Harry Potter Tripple Deck RT and the run into Kings Cross. All filmed at a good sedate speed to allow it all to be taken in. Trouble is with UK Building Regs of 8x2” Floor Joists it would be over a foot below the surface making work even harder. Might work as a Pull Apart Sectional Layout that could be lifted out for work to be done. Hm my Front Room and Dining Room are below such a floor. New project?

Different ! The detailing and overall scheme is superb. The viewing perspective gives a wonderful sense of place.

Trouble is with UK Building Regs of 8x2” Floor Joists ?

Not a Building Regs requirement - structural stability, determined by calculation and dependent upon the span.

Usually, for simplicity of construction, the deepest floor joist will be used throughout the house, so you can end up with 8" x 2"s (50 mm x 200 mm) or larger spanning small areas such as study, WC, Utility etc

Amazing. How difficult would this have been to construct! Mind you, my first thought was that they have a terrible case of constructive woodworm in that house!:D:D Tough if your house is built on a solid concrete slab, as mine is.

We've all missed the trick - I suspect the floor's been raised after the railway is built ;););)

Designed-in from the get-go, or a modular floor put in afterwards, I would reckon..

Would be interested to see some 'build' photo's..
