Can only be a manufacturing issue then Mike.

ebay mike said:Gizzy. Just had another look at the underside - should have looked a bit further in the first place. Track still appears factory assembled but sleeper webbing in two parts a la LGB. one is GG320 and the other GG280. That explains how it's exactly 600mm.
Gizzy said:That's interesting?
GG320 should be a 320 mm length of track, according to the info I have from this PIKO pdf here;
http://www.gaugemaster.com/piko/Piko-G-Scale-Track.pdf
A 600 mm length of track should be GG600.
Maybe you've some cut and shut track!
I know Mel has some Piko track, and he has never mentioned anything about the rails not being aligned? Bigjack has some of the points, and again, he has never mentioned this.
I haven't any Piko track yet, so I'll leave it to others for their comment Mike....
ebay mike said:Just got home so I thought I'd check the track again. All lengths are exactly 600mm. There appears no way to loosen or adjust the fishplates. The rail ends are offset by 3mm. The plastic sleeper webbing says copyright PIKO 2007. Reference numbers 35200-0121 & GG320 present.
Gizzy said:For £3 each, I reckon I could live with it too? That's a real steal!ebay mike said:I got a dozen 600mm lengths and they all seem to be the same. All s/h but no evidence of them being tampered with. As they were only £3 each, I think I can live with it.
Gizzy said:Didn't notice this when I first saw the Piko track a few years ago?ebay mike said:I bought some PIKO straights recently and didn't realise the track ends are offset by a few mm. Presume I'll have to trim the longer raiil when connecting to LGB or Aristo. Anyone else had same problem or got a better idea?
Might be worth checking with your vendor Mike, as it could be a manufacturing fault....
I would try and ajust the rails so that the track ends are the same. Might mean loosening or replacing the fish plates? This is what holds the rail in place on LGB track, so it might be the same with the Piko too....
