Nice job Mel. Rover Damask red strikes again. Tis a lovely colour.

Just been reading your dialogue with Gizliz about RAF Police dogs. I had one bite me in the ass once when I was on Guard Duty at RAF Binbrook.

The handler got a right roastin' 'cos he'd let the dog off the leash.

I wouldn't know about the donkey mate. The dog bite incident happened shortly after they closed the place.

I was stationed at RAF Scampton and we also had to cover Binbrook as there was only a small RAF Police presence left on the unit. We were issued with a Ford Escort estate and two pick axe handles.

Group 4 took it over soon afterwards and it went right downhill. Half the fence panels on the married quarters patch disappeared overnight.

Anyhoo back on thread. Got any new piccies today Mel?

No mate, peeing down here and I've spent the morning doing housework (brownie points ).

Bram Mar 10 2009, 12:55 PM

Ah, the brownie points. You have to keep a balance in hand and keep topping 'em up

Ouch!

My favourite 'tease' was to always show my ID card to the dog, as it was invariably more intelligent than its handler....

Took the plunge and used the airbrush that I got for Christmas for the first time today. I used it to weather the underframes of some goods stock. I'm confident that I can usually weather the bodywork OK, but I wanted to get that brake dusty - mucky look on the running gear - hence the airbrush. Don't ask me what colour it is, I just mixed greys and browns until it was more or less what I was after. Now I'll keep the mix in a jar and keep adding colours to it as I use it.

Anyhoo, here's what I did;

1) Ex Gareth S&T dept. wagon.
