When I was at Andrew's last week, I asked him to get me some Preiser stuff. So a small parcel turned up this morning.
First, the Preiser crates and pallet kit. Comes with a really useful sheet of stencils etc. decals.

Of course, with all this valuable stuff lying around, you need someone to guard it. So Andrew got me a Preiser German Shepherd dog to go with this re-painted Bachmann bobby and all is under the watchful eye of the RAF Police dog team.

My Dad Phiz Liz would disagree with you there Mel. When he was a Chef in the RAF, a dog handler popped in to his kitchen and asked him to cook him Bacon and Eggs. As Dad had finished for the evening, he told the handler politely where to go. So the handler got the dog to guard my Dad, and he cooked his own supper.
In my experience though, the handlers were okay but their dogs were usually mental. Nearly got attacked on 2 separate occasions and units, but lucky for me, their handlers just managed to reign in their dog.
Actually, the second time was probably luckier for the dog, as I was armed at the time....

Some months ago Mike very kindly gave me this Brawa coach which had taken a bit of a tumble off the Lazy Grange Bay II.
It's a fantastic piece of kit with ballbearing wheels and lighting fitted, but extremely fragile especially around the end balconies. Not really up to the normal rough and tumble of a garden railway IMO.

Today I finished the re-build. All the steps and "iron work" in the vicinity of the balconies was beyond help and anything remaining was cut off, just leaving the end rails. New steps are GRS whitemetal castings.
Re-paint using Halfords primer and Rover Damask Red ......... that's confused them again!!
Transfers are from Fox and GRS, just what I could find in amongst my stache.
