I managed to cobble together some couplings to pull the permanent way train using the Bachmann caboose (tool van) as an adaptor wagon. Might need to buy/scrounge some Bachmann hook and loop couplings if anyone has some spare? .

I have a few Bachmann hook and loops, Mel - PM me if you still need any.
Incidentally, probably the wrong loco on the MoD duties - have a look at these from Longmoor.

Incidentally, probably the wrong loco on the MoD duties - have a look at these from Longmoor.

Ah, they look similar to my Wangerooge diesel, the Porter is meant to arrived earlier in the war though. All rule 8 anyway .
Hook and loops now fitted (robbed the caboose), plus a crew. She's already hauling the type of train I had in mind for the RAF depot.

Like them- first G scale loco I ever had a chance to play with. Should look good with a few "British" mods and paint scheme- considered fitting some stereotypical British details, lamps etc, the make it look even more like an American loco working in Britain (as opposed to merely an American loco )
