TOBY THE TRAM ENGINE

Hi. I'm new to this and am trying to get a garden railway started for my Grandson. We have Thomas and two coaches, and would like to add Toby. I understand there used to be a IP Engineering kit (no longer available ?). I have built brass kits etc in OO in the past so would be happy to have a go at scratch building. Anybody got a surplus Toby (any condition) or drawings ? or maybe the instructions from an IP Eng. Kit?
Thanks
Grandad Pete

There's also a kit by Perfect World.

If you buy the body only, you can fit almost any D-I-Y chassis.

I too fancy a Toby to go with my Percy.
After seeing the Perfect World version running on the KandNWLR videos I am sorely tempted; does anyone have any experience of building Perfect World kits?

Guys

Thanks very much a great help. The GRS kit seems to be for 64 mm track, whilst I have 45 mm so I may take thier body only kit or the Perfect World body kit and scratch a chasis together.
Thanks again for the info, you out perform Google by miles !
Now I need to order the sand and cement for tomorrow, ground cleared, stumps removed, civil works commence tomorrow. Hopefully a dry day.

Looking at the GRS catalogue it appears that CMD250 & CMD251 are the 32/45mm gauge versions whilst CMD1540 is the G64 version... glancing at the overall dimensions could be the same resin body though 8|

The IP tram was also based on Std gauge - yes, I know Thomas & Co are Std Gauge.
A visitor brought one to my open day & running on 45mm the clearances were tooooo close.

The GRS one is a two piece body one moulding for the body one for the skirt. There is also a brass etch for the window frames. They do make some nice brass cow catchers bit expensive, Brandbright do some good ones too. The GRS is for 45 ( your right uses the same body as the g3 but all g scale don't forget) I image you have a few chassis options but know they will supply a USA trains one for it.
