The Woodlock Line

cheers for the kind comments, I think I have just about achieved what I wanted, a small detailed railway amongst the garden. I just need a few Piko buildings now, mainly a church and a goods yard/depot of some sort, then to watch the garden grow around it. who knows, it may not stay so small though..............
 
by the way, if anyone is wondering what the tall mesh fence is for................ its to keep the other halfs pet rabbit out from eating my plants! it will come down one day.... :D
 
After obtaining some new Points, an extension is now under way, up the garden where I will have a loco shed and sidings, which will also make it easier to get the stock out. Though it will be a steep incline from the 'Woodlock Valley'

Does look steep but I have found you can get away with fairly steep gradients with heavy locos and short trains :-)

Any option to lower the position of the loco shed?

I think I will have to stick with the hill, it will mainly be for light loco moves anyway, but should prove interesting
 
It's great to extend! I like how your planting has developed - looks really nice.
 
A little bit more done today, but in the cold and rain it was not enjoyable, so looks like tomorrow is the day. Nice work. Is that a sneak attack under the wire fence ? Do it now and get forgiveness later ?

Erm......... sort of:). The fence is to stop the bloody rabbit getting on to the main garden railway, so eventually there will be a little hatch type thing to allow trains through and stop rabbit getting through. The ballast on the extension will need to be secured somehow, diluted exterior grade pva maybe?

I may have missed it in your text of previous posts, but what about the vine growing on the wire fence ? Will it block your view of that portion of the railway ?
