The Woodlock Line

A small update, and thanks to Casey for giving me the idea of a Engine Shelter. It has given the top end of the garden track a focal point, rather than just some track up to the house. The garden has been quite a challenge to keep under control, but it still looks good. My 'new' Forney is in action, complete with sound, as is my new DRGW coach, to which I treat myself at Munich Railway Station coming back from Austria.

Not had much to do today with the weather so I went to get some more rocks from a secret location and wired my MTS up inside the house so that I can just switch it on and run trains easily. It sounds trivial, but it had become a chore getting the trains up and running, but now, its plug in and go from the living room.

They are up to Schleichs usual standard. However the plastic does get rather brittle after prolonged exposure to the elements. I still have a couple of them in use on the CFR.

Things is though Casey, for 20 quid a pop it don't matter if they only last 2 years. Glad you raised the brand as a subject on here.

Absolutely Duncan. Mind you, you will get more than a couple of years life out of them. Some of my Schleich stuff has been out on the CFR for fifteen years and more.
 
Day of mixed emotion today. Last week our pet Rabbit Flopsy passed away after quite a short illness. I had erected a fence to separate the trainset garden from been eaten by her as some of you may recall. Now it is not needed I have decided to take it down to open the whole garden back up and it does look loads better. Just a shame about why it has been done. Isn't it weird how a pet becomes so important.

Loosing a beloved pet hurts... Don't know the words in English, but I wish you 'all the best...' :( What a lovely floppy ear Flopsy was... She has the same 'stance' as our Pebbles, also a floppy ear, which can have exactly the same look in her face.

Early this year she (Pebbles) was also very ill but it turned out to be constipation due to the switch from winter coat to summer coat. As they like to clean themselves thoroughly (like a cat), she got a lot of hair into her system... Two nights in the animal hospital and all care costed more than my most expensive LGB item... But hey, it's your pet so you happily take care of them! (and we got her for free...)

I am also considering fencing the railroad part of our garden due to TWO of these 'chew-it-all' running around in our garden...

A small consolation - the garden looks good with out the fence.

If I had stole it I don't think the HSB would miss it. They have really let the Selktel Bahn go down hill. Alexibad was a proper dump. I once stayed there in better times...... Wonder how much longer it will remain open. Regarding the sign, it didn't look so big in the shop.....
